Having witnessed the struggles of the students in Uganda firsthand, it is easy for me to be overwhelmed by the depth of their need. What is becoming increasingly apparent to me is the limited role I play in this mission. I can accomplish nothing on my own, but through inviting others to help, our efforts are multiplied through God’s grace.
Take the students at Peoria Christian School. It is a very small rural school, but because of their open hearts, they were impacted by the stories of children not being able to attend school because they didn’t have a uniform. The students decided to hold a fundraiser to purchase uniforms to help children halfway around the world attend school.
I have been in touch with Maggie recently, and she sent along photos of some students in their uniforms. I was not aware, until recently, that one-third of the kids are orphans. Wow!
